Senior Health Policy Advisor Discusses Healthcare Reform with Clinical Leadership

Dr. William Scanlon, Senior Health Policy Advisor to Health Policy R&D, visited Summa's Akron City Hospital campus on August 12th to discuss "Healthcare Reform: Implications for Medical Education, Research and Clinical Practice." Dr. Scanlon also serves on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC).  Ninety clinicians and researchers from across the health system participated in the grand rounds session presented by the Department of Internal Medicine.

Northeast Ohio Regional Allied Health Summit

Public and private sector leadership gather to discuss solutions

On Thursday, September 24, The University of Akron will host the Northeast Ohio Regional Allied Health Summit to review the status of Northeast Ohio’s allied health workforce. The purpose of the summit is to align public and private sector resources to facilitate best practice education, training, and clinical practice strategies for the region’s allied health disciplines.
